Everett A. Vanderpool, age 74, formerly of Garrett, husband of Christine Hughes Vanderpool, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Maury Regional Medical Center, in Columbia, Tenn.

He was born Feb. 9, 1938, at Garrett, a son of the late Beckham and Gertrude Wallen Vanderpool. He was a board member of the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department, member of the UAW and attended the Stone Coal Old Regular Baptist Church, at Garrett.

In addition to his wife, Christine, he is survived by two sons, Larry (Karen) Vanderpool, of Homer, Mich., and Gary Vanderpool, of Antioch, Tenn.; a daughter, Sheila (Les) Damron, of Williamsport, Tenn.; three brothers, James Vanderpool, of Garrett, Charles Vanderpool, of Litchfield, Mich., and David Vanderpool, of Niles, Mich.; two sisters, Linda Cox, of Niles, Mich., and Juanita Salisbury, of Jackson, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and special family friend, Mike (Janelle) Slone, of Banner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Everett Douglas Vanderpool.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, in the Stone Coal Old Regular Baptist Church, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, at Hueysville, under the kind and professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, of Martin.
