PAINTSVILLE — Highlands Health System now offers After-Hours Care, convenient healthcare on a walk-in basis, when you need it.
Family health needs seldom follow a 9-5 schedule. Now community residents can receive the treatment they need after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
After Hours Care treats patients of all ages for a number of things, including minor illness, minor injury, sprains, fractures, laceration repair and more. After-Hours also offers IV hydration, medication administration, X-ray and lab services. The majority of lab testing, such as flu, RSV, urinanalysis, pregnancy, rapid strep, can be done on-site. Any additional lab services can also be managed, with results usually within 24 hours.
After-Hours provides convenient, affordable health care to the patient. The facility works in conjunction with other Highlands family physicians to provide an extension of their practices after normal business hours. Instead of waiting for an appointment, taking time off work and delaying care, After Hours can provide same day treatment, usually within 30 minutes or less.
After-Hours also provides a convenient alternative to the Emergency Room. Wait times are also much less than the ER, as is the cost. But, if a patient were in the ER and felt the wait time was too long, the patient can choose to be seen at After-Hours during hours of operation. The patient’s registration information can be transferred instantly. This allows the patient to simply register once, not twice, and makes the transition of care seamless.
“Highlands is working to make care easier and more accessible to the community,” said Chris Hoffman, chief operating officer at Highlands Regional Medical Center
Highlands After-Hours Care is conveniently located in the first floor, Suite 103, of the Paintsville Medical Office Building at 713 Broadway in Paintsville. Open Monday to Friday, from 5 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (606) 789-2185 or go to HRMC.org
