Ruth Couch, 81, of Prestonsburg, widow of James Couch, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at her residence.

Born July 28, 1930, in Perry County, to the late Colson Williams and Nancy Napier Williams, she was a homemaker and a member of Lackey Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Eddie Couch, of Barboursville, and Colson Couch, of Garrett; daughters, Brenda Thornsbury, of Prestonsburg, Barbara Clark, of Louisa, and Sandra Johnson, of Prestonsburg; brother, James Williams, of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Olaf Williams, Eddie Williams, Burchel Williams, Colson Williams Jr., Pirscella Caudill, Orche Sparks, Juanita Stidham and Francis Barley.

Funeral services for Ruth Couch will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with B.J. Crider officiating. Burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery, at Lackey.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
