SALYERSVILLE – The First Commonwealth Bank Mountain Parkway Branch reopened Tuesday. The branch has been closed since March 2, when it suffered tornado damage.

While the building has been closed, First Commonwealth Bank has been in operation. The Downtown Salyersville location immediately extended its hours to serve the community. Also, a temporary facility was set-up on the Mountain Parkway site, which was up and running within days of the disaster.

Although the bank building suffered damage from the storm, First Commonwealth Bank’s management and employees realize how fortunate they were that no one was in the building at the time of the storm and that the building did not suffer greater damage.

“The community has been so supportive of us through this rebuilding process,” said Greg Wilson, First Commonwealtyh president and CEO. “We are pleased to reopen this location so that we can continue to serve the Salyersville market with a full-service branch in a convenient location. We realize there are a lot of people and businesses that are still rebuilding and we want to help them focus on that by making banking as easy as possible.”

The First Commonwealth Bank Mountain Parkway branch lobby is open Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. 4 p.m., Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The drive-thru is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
