PRESTONSBURG — A candidate in the 2010 jailer race was arrested last weekend, after Kentucky State police received a report of domestic violence.

Stanley Lee lost his 2010 bid to unseat Jailer Roger Webb. Webb captured 66 percent of the vote.

On Sunday, according to police reports, Stanley E. Lee, 44, of Martin, was arrested before dawn, after police received a call from a victim advising that her live-in boyfriend was assaulting her and had “beat her head in.”

According to the statements made by the victim in the police report, she was intoxicated, after she accompanied Lee to the “Holiday Inn” to drink and socialize with friends. The alleged victim told police Lee became upset because, according to the police report, she had “information on her ‘baby daddy’ on her new cell phone and that the subject is very jealous of that person.”

The report states the victim had an obvious contusion on the right side of her forehead.

Lee was transported to the Floyd County Detention Center, where he then advised the officer that he had scratches from defending himself. Lee reportedly requested that he be surrendered to the Floyd County Sheriff, instead of being housed in the detention center, because he was a former federal law enforcement officer.

Lee was later released from custody on a $5,000 surety bond. His next scheduled court date is June 6.
