Lurlie Marie Coleman, 70, of Betsy Layne, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center, in Pikeville.

Born Dec. 28, 1941, to the late Jim and Winnie Smith Thacker, in Pike County, she was the wife of Raymond Coleman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Betsy Layne Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James (Pam) Coleman and Danny (Madge) Coleman, both of Salyersville; two daughters, Kathy (Larry) McKinney, of Harold, and Tammy (Bobby Howell) Coleman, of Banner; two children raised as her own, Teresa Akers and Austin Akers; two sisters, Virgie Bentley and Sophie Maynard, both of Pikeville; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, James Thacker, Milton Thacker, Ersie Thacker and Nora Thacker.

Funeral services for Lurlie Marie Coleman were held Friday, March 23, at Betsy Layne Church of Christ, at Betsy Layne, with Tommy Spears officiating. Burial followed in the Amil Little Cemetery, of Long Fork, at Virgie.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
