PIKEVILLE — The Pike County Grand Jury returned 15 indictments this week.


They include:


• James L. Jackson, 51, of Myra; second-degree burglary when he unlawfully entered or remained in the residence of Jerry Sexton for the purpose of committing a crime.


• Tommy J. Russell Jr., 29, of Pikeville, also known as Tommie Joe Russell, committed the offense of theft by unlawful taking on or about Sept. 24 in Pike County, taking merchandise belonging to Walmart which had a value equal to or greater than $500. He is now being charged with first-degree persistent felony offender, for the reason that he, now being greater than 21-years-old, was previously convicted of two other offenses, one in Johnson County, and another in Pike.


• Steven A. Keen, 35, Pikeville; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, oxycodone (Class D felony); second-degree possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone (Class A misdemeanor); third-degree possession of a controlled substance, clonazepam and alprazolam (Class A misdemeanor); possessing prescription drugs not in proper container (Class B misdemeanor).


• Tommy Russell, also known as Tommie Joe Russell, 29, of Pikeville, Williamson Smith, 30, of Pikeville, and Angela Robinson, 32, of Dana; theft by unlawful taking (Class D felony) and first-degree persistent felony offender for Russell.


• Joshua Damron, 31, Pikeville; theft by unlawful taking (Class D felony), by unlawfully taking or exercising control of merchandise and gift cards in an amount of or more than $500 from Walmart, or in complicity with each other in so doing.


• Phillip Moore, 31, Pikeville; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methanphetamine (Class D felony); third-degree possession of a controlled substance, adipex (Class A misdemeanor); possession of drug paraphanelia.


• Franklin Compton, 39, Pikeville; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, cocaine (Class D felony).


• Debbie Bryant, 53, Betsy Layne, and Robert L. Stewart, 49, Teaberry; fraudulent use of a credit card (Class D felony) and first-degree persistent felony offender for Bryant, who was previously convicted of two previous offenses, in Floyd and Pike Counties.


• Brandon Plymale, 28, Kimper, and William Compton, 41, Kimper; receiving stolen property by knowingly receiving, retaining or disposing of jewelry valued more than $500, and which had been stolen from Stacy Hall, or in complicity with each other in so doing.


• Greg Fields, age and hometown unavailable; receiving stolen property, by knowingly receiving, retaining or disposing of air compressors valued more than $500, and which had been stolen from Morris Casey.


• David C. Norman, 31, Mt. Sterling; theft by unlawful taking by unlawfully taking or exercising control of a laptop computer, knife collection and money in an amount of more than $500 which belonged to Clarence Dotson.
