HUEYSVILLE — Violence broke out in Floyd County last week, when a man was gunned down outside his home.
According to Kentucky State Police, Delmas Gene Slone Jr., 42, was shot and killed just off of Route 7 late last Wednesday afternoon. No arrest has been made as of press time.
KSP officials say they received a 911 call for help, and when troopers arrived, they found Slone dead, outside near his home.
KSP Trooper Shaun Little says another person involved in the incident was located, but police are not going to release his information.
“We will present the case to the Floyd County grand jury,” said Little.
According to KSP, the alleged shooter does live in the area, and detectives are investigating to determine if a relationship existed between the two in order to ascertain a motive for the shooting.
According to Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson, Slone’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
The shooting is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
