Pike man charged in shooting

ASHCAMP – An Elkhorn City man has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault for an alleged shooting Monday at Ashcamp.

According to information provided by the Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville, police received a 911 from Phillip Silcox, 45, of Ashcamp, saying he had been shot in the back while riding his motorcycle. Police arrived on the scene and took Raymond Stewart, 47, into custody.

Silcox was transported to Pikeville Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. The incident remains under investigation by KSP Det. Kevin Newsome.
