Loran Davis, 87, of Ashland, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the Woodland Oaks' Health Care Center.
Born June 3, 1920, in Paintsville, he was the son of the late Clarence Davis and Exer Davis. He was a former coal truck driver for Little Elkhorn Coal Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Akers Davis, on March 3, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters: Octavia Jane Estepp of Prestonsburg; and Shirlene Conley of Clearfield; a son, Jason Davis of Prestonsburg; granddaughters: Connie McGuire of Prestonsburg, Tina Conley Kiser (Steve) of Pikeville; a grandson, Anthony Conley of Morehead; a great-grandson, Patrick McGuire; a brother, Bill Davis of Paintsville; and a sister, Freida Castle of Paintsville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 16, at 3 p.m., at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with Rev. Harley Sexton officiating.
Interment was in Richmond Memorial Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.
The family has entrusted arrangements to the Carter Funeral Home. (Paid obituary)
