HAZARD - South Floyd was unsuccessful Tuesday night in its attempt to return to the win column. Playing on the road at Perry County Central, South Floyd encountered a determined Commodore team. Perry County Central led South Floyd 45-18 at the half on its way to winning 91-62. Perry County Central put South Floyd out of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Raiders 23-2. The loss was South Floyd’s fourth straight setback. With the loss, South Floyd dropped to 2-12. John Yancy Amis had a team-high 19 points for the host Commodores. Senior forward Tyler Bailey joined Amis as a double-digit scorer for Perry County Central with 17 points. Thirteen different Commodores scored in the non-region matchup. Perry County Central improved to 10-6 after the win. Thanks to the win, Perry County Central snapped a two-game losing streak that consisted of losses to Bell County and Hazard as part of the WYMT Mountain Classic. Lyle Johnson led South Floyd with a game-high 22 points. Ethan Johnson followed Lyle Johnson in the Raider scoring column, finishing with 15 points. Wes Akers scored 11 points as three different South Floyd players reached double figures.
