My name Amy Tackett and I am writing you in regards to the murder of my late uncle, Geaorge Branham. I am asking Floyd Countians to help me draw the recognition this crime deserves.
My uncle was murdered in August of 1999. Today, no arrest has been made. A day doesn't pass by that I don't wonder why he was murdered and why no arrest has been made? In some sense I feel that it is partly because of who he was.
To some he was just another man, just another face, and/or just another victim. To many others he was a friend, brother, son, father, and husband. No human on this planet deserved to die in the way that it is suspected that my uncle did.
My mother and grandmother question daily when are we going to know something, when are we going to get closure? Honestly, at this point I don't think that we ever will, but I am making an attempt to seek help from others.
George was not rich, nor political. It saddens me that a life has been taken and because he wasn't popular with the politicians and his pockets weren't lined with gold, it was okay for him to be murdered. My family is pleading for answers, or just closure. Why, Floyd County do you allow a murderer to roam your streets and not question it?
Yes, I admit my uncle may have had a drug problem, but did he deserve to die? No!
I hope that the person who committed this horrific crime sees his face and hears his voice until they day they die. It's like he has been forgotten and no one cares.
Please don't allow this brutal murderer to walk the streets in our hometowns and justice not be served. Put yourself in my shoes, and help us find the murderer of my loving uncle, George Branham.
Now, if I am stepping on someone's toes, I'm sorry but they shouldn't have been in my way, so to speak.
Please, Floyd County, help me get this crime the recognition it deserves and solve a mystery that haunts my family daily. Please if you have any information on this crime please report it to the authorities, I request the reports be made to the Kentucky State Police or Floyd County Coroner Roger Nelson. Thank you for your time and attention.
