P'burg girls post back-to-back wins

PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg High School girls' soccer team has won its last two times out. Prestonsburg has prevailed in two of its last three outings.

The Ladycats came out victorious this week in a pair of home games. On Monday, Prestonsburg rolled to an 11-1 win over Pike County Central. The Ladycats hosted and defeated Paintsville 5-3 Tuesday evening.

Belfry has been the only squad to upend Prestonsburg in the last the last four games. The Lady Pirates edged the Ladycats 3-2 in a game played Thursday, Sept. 21.

Weather permitting, Prestonsburg was scheduled to travel to Shelby Valley THursday evening for a road contest. The Ladycats are slated to hit the road and travel to Pikeville Saturday for a contest versus the host Lady Panthers.

Next week, Prestonsburg has games set versus Pike County Central (Oct. 3) and Letcher County Central (Sept. 5).
