YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Morehead State Volleyball Eagles finished the Country Inn and Suites Invitational with three wins in four matches.  MSU split Saturday matches, defeating Duquesne 3-2 (26-30, 30-28, 28-30, 30-22, 15-8), then losing to Bowling Green 3-1 (32-30, 28-30, 30-24, 30-20).
MSU is now 10-5 on the season.  Bowling Green is the only undefeated team in the tournament, and the Falcons were scheduled to play Saint Francis (Pa.) later on Saturday.
In the win over Duquesne (6-10), MSU was led by Laura Cox who had 24 kills and hit .310.  Erin Peak had 17 kills and 18 digs.  Ashley Murphey had 15 kills, hit .344 and had a career-high six assist blocks.  Diana Zipp had 13 kills and hit .314.
As a team, the Eagles hit .185 with 82 kills, while Duquesne hit .147 with 59 kills.
Bowling Green, 9-2 after the win over MSU, hit an outstanding .260.  The Eagles were led by Cox who had 19 kills.  Ashley Doscher had 17 kills.
Next up for MSU is a key Ohio Valley Conference match at Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday (Sept. 20).  The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
