named to two NCAA committees

TIMES STAFF REPORT

MOREHEAD - Louisa native Brian Hutchinson, Morehead State University's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, has recently been appointed to two prestigious NCAA committees. Hutchinson has been picked to serve on the Division I Football Issues Committee and on the Division I-AA Football Governance Committee.

“I am honored to represent the Pioneer Football League and Morehead State University on these committees, Hutchinson said. “The Division I Football Issues Committee and the Division I-AA Governance Committee both serve as advisory and policy-development groups to the Management Council. It is a pleasure to serve with both groups, all for the betterment of college football.”

Hutchinson, a native of Louisa, Ky., became MSU's ninth athletics director on March 11, 2005, after serving the previous six months on an interim basis. He also spent five years as associate director of athletics.

“We are very proud of Brian's appointment to these important NCAA committees,” said MSU President Wayne D. Andrews. “I am convinced that he is one of the finest young athletics administrators in this nation. Our athletics program is destined for great success under his leadership.”

Both Hutchinson and his wife, Elizabeth, are two-time graduates of the University. They have two sons, Benjamin and Riley.
