Trenton M. Ward, 33, of Martin, was charged with one count of first-degree assault for allegedly shooting another man and causing serious injury to him on Nov. 15.
Eric Kelly, 27, of Salyersville, was also indicted on charges of assault and wanton endangerment for allegedly engaging in conduct which put another person in substantial danger on March 17, as well as a fourth-degree assault charge for allegedly ramming the victim's car with his own.
Drug crimes accounted for nine indictments issued, which included Randy Tackett, 37, of Wheelwright. Tackett was charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled substance and one charge of being a persistent felony offender for an August 15 incident in which he allegedly sold cocaine.
Drug possession charges accounted for three of the indictments. Paul Maynard, 32, of Allen is facing two counts of drug possession as well as single counts of public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia for a May 20 episode. Brentina Elswick, 38, of East Bernstadt, was charged with possession charges, including drugs and paraphernalia, for a May 3 incident that also charges her with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and various traffic violations. Rhonda Gail Caudill, 26, of Prestonsburg, was charged with one count of possession for allegedly possessing a one-quarter of a methadone wafer on August 5.
Four subjects were charged with driving under the influence of various substances and rounded out the persons charged with drug-related offenses. Timothy Cain-Micah Cantrell was charged driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the highway and two other traffic violations for a Sept. 3, 2004, incident. Nicholas McKinney, 26, of Raccoon, was charged with DUI and failure to surrender his revoked license, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest for an Oct. 5 incident that saw him arrested by Kentucky State Police. Rodney Gerron Scarberry, 30, of Bypro, was charged with DUI and various traffic violations as well as possession of marijuana for a November 2004 incident that was investigated by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement. Charles Hall Jr. received the most charges for a Dec. 26 incident during which he was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license, no insurance, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to use a child restraint, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor and several traffic violations.
Forgery cases were lodged against two subjects which included Jeffrey Stewart, 28, of Belcher. Stewart was indicted on charges stemming from an April 3, 2005, incident which accuses him of possessing a forged check, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Jackie E. Hall, 34, of Garrett, was indicted on charges from a December 2004,incident charging him with possessing over $3,000 in counterfeit money, four counts of drug possession, disorderly conduct, having a prescription substance in an improper container and two traffic violations.
Burglary charges were leveled against two subjects. Michael Casey Vanderpool, 27, of Minnie, was indicted on two charges of burglary for allegedly entering the premises of the same subject on two different occasions in February 2005. Eric Shepherd, 26, of Hueysville, was charged with one count of burglary for entering a home illegally on Feb. 22, 2005.
Two men charged with criminal mischief rounded out the list of subjects under indictment. Kevin Woods, 21, of Printer, is accused of damaging a subject's property to the tune of $1,000. Michael Mullins, 33, of Prestonsburg, is accused of damaging the property of two subjects, with damages estimated at $500 or more.
