EASTERN - Letcher County Central completed a regular-season sweep of the Allen Central Lady Rebels Friday night. Letcher Central, in its first season, won a sixth straight game, beating Allen Central 70-42.

Stephanie Whitaker paced Letcher County Central with 16 points. Heather Martin, a transfer from 14th Region rival Knott County Central, added 15 points.

Letcher County Central grabbed an early lead and never trailed en route to the 28-point win. The Lady Cougars exited the first quarter with a 21-5 lead. Letcher Central took a 39-15 lead into the intermission period.

Alanna Cline led the way for Allen Central, scoring a game-high 20 points. Cline was the only Allen Central player to reach double figures. Sara Johnson and Amanda Mills finished with seven and five points, respectively.

The Lady Rebels have regular-season games remaining versus Sheldon Clark (Friday) and Magoffin County (Feb. 24). Allen Central will host Sheldon Clark and then play on the road at Magoffin County.
