LEXINGTON - University of Kentucky football players officially reported for the 2004 season Monday. Wildcat football players, both newcomers and veterans, were fitted for pads Monday.

The annual Kentucky Football Fans' Day will be held Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.

Activities will begin outside the stadium at 9 a.m. with the "Wildcat Refuge" children's play area.

Stadium gates will open at 10:30 a.m., when Wildcat gift bags and prize tickets will be given away. Posters, schedule cards, meal tickets, and other goodies will be in the gift bags. Meal tickets can be redeemed for free Kroger hot dogs and Pepsi while supplies last.

Head coach Rich Brooks and the UK grid team will be introduced at 11 a.m., followed by an autograph session with the Wildcat coaches and players. During the autograph session, there will be drawings for grand prizes, such as season tickets, a golf outing, game jerseys, and other memorabilia.

The autograph session will end at 12:45 p.m. Fans are invited to remain at the stadium and observe practice, which will begin at 1:20 p.m. Fans' Day will be the only practice that will be open to the general public this season. The remainder of the team practices will be closed to the public.
