Fred Marcum, 40, was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Route 2032 just before 3 p.m. on Nov. 5.
According to the police report, Sherman Perry, 38, of Pilgrim, was operating a 1998 Ford Ranger when he crossed the center line and traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by Marcum, resulting in a head-on collision.
Robin Perry, 39, of Hode, a passenger in Marcum’s vehicle, was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Sherman Perry was suspected of being under the influence of drugs. Perry was arrested and charged with murder, driving under the influence second offense, first-degree assault and other traffic-related charges. Perry is currently lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
The accident is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
