PRESTONSBURG – The jury trial of an Auxier woman charged with 44 counts of menacing and one count of terroristic threatening has been scheduled for June 16.
April Davis, 28, was arrested in September of last year after allegedly forcing her way on a Floyd County school bus and threatening everybody on board.
After the arrest, Assistant County Attorney Jimmy “Blue” Marcum said that a video system on the bus recorded the entire event, which he viewed. After watching the video, Marcum determined that the police should be involved.
Marcum said that the incident occurred because of an argument between two children at school.
“She stormed on the bus and said something about somebody threatening her child,” Marcum said, shortly after the alleged incident. “She says she was going to jerk everybody off the bus and kill them. You can see Ella Burke, the bus driver, radioing in and asking for assistance.”
The terroristic threatening charge against Davis was filed for allegedly telling her neighbor that she was going to cut off the head of the bus driver later that day.
Davis pleaded not guilty to the charges at her arraignment.
The jury trial was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, but was rescheduled in Floyd District Court for June 16.
