PRESTONSBURG – A Wayland woman who police said had been hiding from them since June was arrested in Prestonsburg this past weekend on a burglary facilitation charge.

According to the original complaint in July, Zelda Moore Allen, 34, of Railroad Street in Wayland, allegedly drove a vehicle used in the burglary of Roger Henderson’s home in Wayland.

Henderson, who took out the complaint on July 3, claims in his statement that more than $10,000 worth of property was taken from his home during this burglary.

Allen was arrested Saturday and charged with criminal facilitation to commit first-degree burglary in connection with the July complaint.

In his written citation, arresting officer Wayland Police Chief Johnny Layne stated that Allen had been hiding from him and other authorities since the time of Henderson’s complaint, adding that “she moved out of Wayland to avoid me.”

Court records say that Allen is now being held on a $10,000 cash bond and that new charges are pending in her case. She pleaded innocent during her arraignment this week and is now set for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 6.
