PIKEVILLE - The University of Pikeville has signed a volleyball player from Regional Christian School. Brooke Mounts is a defensive specialist who was a member of the Beta Club and an honor-roll student at the school.
Coach Shannon Gassman’s Bears will open the 2012 season in the Labor Day Volleydawg Classic in Lebanon, Tenn., on August 31. The Mid-South Conference has not yet released its preseason volleyball poll. Pikeville competes in the Mid-South Conference along with Bluefield, Campbellsville, Cumberland (Tenn.), Cumberlands (Ky.), Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson, Rio Grande, Shawnee State, St. Catharine and UVA-Wise.
