Teddy Eugene “Gene” Stumbo, 68, of Martin, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at St. Joseph Martin Hospital.

He was born Aug. 11, 1944, at Hite, to the late Hatler and Rebecca “Goody” Compton Spurlock.

He worked as a forklift operator for Threaded Rod, in Indianapolis, Ind., and was a member of the Little Rosa Regular Baptist Church, at McDowell.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hobert Spurlock, William Griffith, John Foley and Herbert Spurlock, and a sister, Bonnie Branham Bottomly.

He is survived by two daughters, Melinda McClure, of Warsaw, Ind., and Shannon Price, of Milford, Ind.; two brothers, Ken Spurlock, of Garrett, and Hubert Spurlock, of Martin; two sisters, Linda Bailey, of Martin, and Brenda Francis, of Garrett; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 25, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with James Swiger officiating.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
