MIDDLE CREEK – The Friends of Middle Creek are inviting the public to attend a reenactment of the battles of Middle Creek and Ivy Mountain this week.

The reenactments will be held at the Middle Creek National Battlefield on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. This is a chance to view a piece of Eastern Kentucky’s history. In the reenactment The Friends of Middle Creek reconstruct Civil War life with activities such as a flag-raising ceremony, a lady’s tea, a debate between generals, commemoration of the battle dead, a Saturday night dance, and of course reenacted battles.

There will be time-period appropriate vendors and artisans, and activities available for family members of all ages.

Reenactors and vendors participate with no fee, so admission to public events is free and open to the public.
