New softball league forming in Hazard

HAZARD - A new men’s softball league is forming in Hazard. Any teams interested in participating in a men’s softball league to be held in Hazard at the Home Place Clinic softball field should contact league organizer Chris Slone via phone at 859-420-8137.

The league will feature a 20-game season with teams playing two games every Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. The season will conclude with a double-elimination tournament.

The entry fee to play for the upstart league is $100 per team. League officials hope to start the debut season on July 15.

Summer MYBL set to tip off: The 2012 Summer Mountain Youth Basketball League (MYBL) will open on Monday (July 9) at the Knott County Sportsplex. For more information on the league, call Greg Ratliff at 606-497-6718.
