PAINTSVILLE — Eulas and Pasty Jaynes began pursuing their dreams of business ownership and sought the services of Michelle Spriggs, management consultant at Morehead State University’s Paintsville Small Business Development Center in November 2012.
The Jaynes had secured a building along the highly trafficked Route 321 in Paintsville to begin remodeling for their future business location. Meeting with Spriggs in November, they wanted information on starting a business.
In the meeting Spriggs reviewed all legal and business aspects of starting a business and provided the Jaynes with proper literature to review and move forward with their business venture.
In the months to follow, the Jaynes spoke with Spriggs on and off about various aspects of the business. Prior to opening, they had one final meeting with Spriggs to finalize their EIN, complete tax forms, address licensing issues and develop a marketing plan.
“The Paintsville SBDC has been such a blessing to us. It has been wonderful to work with someone as helpful as Michelle Spriggs,” said Patsy Jaynes. “We were new at this, starting our own business, and wanted to make sure we did everything correct.
“Michelle led us through the entire process of starting a business from tax issues to properly opening a checking account for the business. The SBDC is the first stop anyone should make before opening a business.”
In February 2013, the business opened its doors to the public through personal financing. Their detail shop has created three new jobs.
Jaynes Detailing, at 613 South Mayo Trail, is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. It offers complete inside and outside detailing, shampooing along with wax. A pick up and drop off service inside city limits also is available.
