PRESTONSBURG — Families interested in providing homes to children will have a chance to learn more about and to begin training for the process.

The Floyd County Department of Protection and Permanency will hold an information meeting Aug. 30, at its office in downtown Prestonsburg.

The meeting will allow interested families to ask questions about adoption and foster parenting. The meeting is strictly informational. No commitment is required.

The department is also planning a series of 10 training classes for potential foster and adoptive families. The time and location of the classes will be determined, after judging the level of interest during the Aug. 30 informational meeting.

The meeting and classes are free, and all materials will be provide.
