PRESTONSBURG — The 2012 Trooper Island and Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Golf Scramble will be held at Stone Crest Golf Course this month.

Highlands supports this event and has donated promotional items such as hand sanitizer, pens and bags to all the golfers that are participating.

“We’ve seen such generosity from the community, we are happy to give back whenever possible,” said Maxanna Cook, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

Trooper Island is a non-profit organization that provides the opportunity for less fortunate children throughout Kentucky to have a summer camp experience. Spearheaded by former State Police Director, Colonel James E. Bassett, the idea was to establish a permanent recreational site where trooper and child could share a weeklong adventure in the outdoors.
