Born December 10, 1933, in Teaberry, he was the son of the late William J. “Bill” and Maudie Hall Martin. He was a retired laborer, and a member of the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Verbal Paige Martin.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons: Eddie Dale (Debbie) Martin of Johnson County, Danny Lee (Debbie) Martin of Teaberry, and Timothy (Rachael) Martin of Harold; three sisters: Pearl Jones and Cosettia McClanahan, both of Teaberry, and Betty Tackett of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchldren: Leslie N. Martin Hughes, Daniel T. Martin, and Jacob David Martin; and two great-grandchildren: Madisen N. Hughes and Hanna F. Hughes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Justin D. Martin; two brothers: Andy and Adren Martin; and three sisters: Goldie Martin, Nova Newsome, and Verlie Martin.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 8, at 1 p.m., at the Pilgrims Home Old Regular Baptist Church, in Grethel, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial was in the Jones Family Cemetery, in Teaberry, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin.
Visiation was at the church.
