Earl Bays, 63, of Garrett, husband of Verlie Wicker Bays, died Sept. 13, 2012, at the Kings Daughter Medical Center.

Born Jan. 22, 1949, to the late Sammie and Dora Miller Bays Jr., he was a factory worker for Associated Milk Producers, in Indiana.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bays.

He is survived by a son, Earl W. Bays, of Garrett; two daughters, Tabitha Bays Parsons, of Russellville, Tenn., and Critina G. Bays, of Lexington; three brothers, Carl R. Bays, of Akron, Ind., Keith Bays, of Pierceton, Ind., and Kennith Bays, of Akron, Ind.; two sisters, Alice Surface, of Akron, Ind., and Karla Lee; and two grandchildren, Alexis LeAnn Parsons and Andrew Tyler Parsons.

Services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Jimmy Brown and Van West officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Gardens, in Prestonsburg.
