RICHMOND – Eastern Kentucky University football players are scheduled to report to campus today. The team will hold its first official practice Thursday on the synthetic turf surface at Roy Kidd Stadium, beginning at 7 p.m.
Around 95 players are on the preseason camp roster including a league-high 10 players who were named to the 2012 preseason All-OVC team. The first practice featuring pads will be Tuesday, Aug. 7.
All preseason practices are open to the public.
EKU will kick off the 2012 schedule on Sept. 1 at Purdue. The season opener will be televised by the Big Ten Network beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Colonels’ home opener is scheduled for Sept. 8 against Morehead State at 6 p.m.
