PRESTONSBURG — Bluegrass performer J.D. Crowe will be retiring soon, but not before playing one last show at the Mountain Arts Center.

And true to form, that last appearance will be a benefit concert.

Crowe is headlining the “Bluegrass through the Years” concert Sept. 29, with his band, The New South. They will be joined by The Boxcars and Pike and Floyd County natives Coaltown Dixie.

Tickets to the event are $21 in advance and $26 the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at the MAC box office, by calling (606) 889-9125, or by visiting macarts.com.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Cedar Creek Assisted Living and Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center.
