PRESTONSBURG - In boys’ soccer, Prestonsburg dropped its season-opener to Hazard on Tuesday. Visiting Hazard managed to double up the Blackcats, winning 4-2.

Justin Combs led Hazard with two goals.

Prestonsburg faced plenty of resistance against an experienced Hazard boys’ soccer team. Defensively for Hazard, goalkeeper Shane Williams held Prestonsburg to a pair of goals.

Dean Andler and Zach Skaggs each had one goal for the Blackcats.

Aiding the Prestonsburg offensive attach, Grant Minix dealt out an assist.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Dylan Cline played the entire contest in the net for the Blackcats.

Prestonsburg was visiting Perry County Central on Thursday evening. Results from the Prestonsburg-Perry County Central boys’ soccer game were unavailable at press time.

Prestonsburg has additional regular-season games scheduled versus Jackson City, Shelby Valley, Belfry, Paintsville, Letcher County Central, Pikeville, Johnson Central, Hazard and Belfry.

The Blackcats are under the guidance of head coach Emily Rizzo.
