HI HAT - South Floyd High School has finalized and released its football schedule for the 2014 season. The Raiders will open the upcoming campaign on the road at Magoffin County on Aug. 22. But after starting the season on the road, South Floyd’s schedule will feature six home games. The home portion of South Floyd’s schedule will included contests versus Pineville (Aug. 29), Hannan, W.Va. (Sept. 5), Knott County Central (Sept. 12), Pikeville (Oct. 10), Allen Central (Oct. 17) and East Ridge (Oct. 31). South Floyd has additional away games scheduled versus Jenkins (Sept. 19), Betsy Layne (Oct. 2) and Phelps (Oct. 24).


The Raiders ended the 2013 season with a 3-8 overall record that included wins over Hillcrest Academy (Ohio), Jenkins and Phelps. South Floyd fell to former district rival Paintsville in the opening round of the Class A State Playoffs.


Veteran head coach Donnie Daniels is set to guide the Raiders in the 2014 season.
