PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg High School football program will be well-represented at this year’s University of Kentucky high school camp. Prestonsburg will attend the Wildcat High School Camp at the University of Kentucky June 11-13. Players from throughout Kentucky and several other states will be in attendance at the Kentucky-hosted high school football camp.


After the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Dead Period, Prestonsburg will travel to Trinity High School in Louisville for a 7-on-7 passing competition. The Blackcats are schedules to attend additional 7-on-7 passing tournaments at UK and Eastern Kentucky University. Prestonsburg is slated to host a 7-on-7 event on July 18.


The Blackcats, under the direction of veteran head coach John DeRossett, captured the 2013 Class 2A, District 8 championship and reached the District 4 title game.


Prestonsburg packed a 7-6 overall record out of the 2013 season. The Blackcats fell to Somerset in the Class 2A, District 4 championship game.


Prestonsburg is favored to win another title in Class 2A, District 8, which also includes Betsy Layne, Leslie County and Shelby Valley.
