EASTERN - Brooklyn Martin, a senior at Allen Central High School, signed a letter of intent to play softball and basketball at Alice Lloyd College on Wednesday. Alice Lloyd College women’s basketball head coach John Mills and ALC softball head coach Dan Wilson joined Brooklyn’s family and friends and high school coaches and officials for the signing.


During her senior softball season at ACHS, Martin batted .300, finishing with two home runs, one grand slam, 15 stolen bases and 10 RBIs.


On the hardwood during her final high school campaign, Martin averaged 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game for the Lady Rebels.


Martin helped to lead Allen Central to the 2014 58th District girls’ basketball championship. She was a key player for Allen Central’s 2013-14 team, which reached the 15th Region Semifinals.
