EASTERN - Allen Central High School senior DeShea Elliott signed with nearby University of Pikeville earlier in the month. A three-sport standout, Elliott signed to play volleyball for the University of Pikeville.
A libero for the reigning 15th Region champion, Elliott thrived throughout her senior season. As a senior, Elliott served 512 times, landed 82 aces and averaged 92 percent serving. She posted 29 kill assists and 13 kills in 445 attempts. As a libero/defensive Specialist, Elliott delivered the ball 1,097 times and earned 492 digs while committing 159 errors. Elliott also averaged 4.5 digs per game (13.5 digs per match).
The athletic Elliott ranked as one of the state’s top liberos during her final prep campaign.
Elliott’s average return rate was 86 percent of all balls hit at her.
Pikeville compete in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) with Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown, Campbellsville, St. Catharine, Shawnee State, Cumberlands (Ky.), Rio Grande, Cumberland and Bluefield.
