DRIFT - Host Allen Central scored in five of its six plate appearances and took advantage of eight Betsy Layne errors to beat the visiting 58th District foe 10-4 at Drift Park on Tuesday.

Allen Central scored 10 runs on only six its. The Rebels edged Betsy Layne 6-5 in the hits column.

Allen Central pitcher Junior Handshoe earned the win. Handshoe worked four innings, registering seven strikeouts in the winning performance.

Tanner Hamilton delivered five strikeouts during a relief appearance for the Rebels.

Houston Hall and Jonathan Brock split time on the mound for the visiting Bobcats. Hall took the loss.

After each team scored once in the initial inning and went scoreless in their respective second at-bat, Allen Central plated two runs in the bottom half of the third.

Extending its lead, Allen Central scored four runs in the home half of the fourth inning.

Dustin Johnson led Allen Central with a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Cameron Hamilton delivered two hits and Coltin Parsons drove in two runs of his own for Allen Central in the win.

Defensively, Allen Central committed only one error.

At the plate for Betsy Layne, Brock led the Bobcats with two hits and a game-high three RBIs.

Allen Central completed a regular-season sweep. When the two teams met on March 27, Allen Central pulled out a hard-fought 3-1 win.

Allen Central leads in the 57th District standings.
