GEORGETOWN – The weather can be unpredictable in Kentucky and Tuesday was a sure sign of that as a wintry mix entered the area and forced the final round of the Bluegrass Spring Classic to be canceled at the Cherry Blossom Golf & Country Club.

Monday’s results are now the final results with the University of Pikeville men’s and women’s golf team both placing second overall. The Bear men shot a 313 to finish two strokes behind champion Campbellsville (Ky.) and the women carded a 332 to finish four strokes behind Campbellsville.

Bradley Litzinger paced UPIKE in second place overall on the men’s side with a 75 (35-40) and Ashley Veach finished tied for first place in the women’s standings with an 81 (41-40).

Next up on the schedule for both teams are the 2014 Mid-South Conference Championships on April 21-23 at the Bardstown Country Club at Maywood in Bardstown.
