ALLEN - Allen Central returned to the win column on Wednesday, blanking visiting 15th Region foe Pike County Central 4-0 behind the pitching of sophomore Austin Lawson.

In a dominant performance on the mound, Lawson held Pike County Central to four hits. Lawson, who pitched a complete game, registered three strikeouts in seven innings.

Allen Central, which returned to the win column after suffering a five-run loss to Sheldon Clark on Tuesday, broke open a scoreless game in the bottom half of the fourth inning, scoring one run. The Rebels added another run in the fifth inning and scored twice in the sixth.

Allen Central pushed across four runs on five hits in the non-district game.

Offenisvely for Allen Central, Wyatt Crisp delivered two RBIs.

Trey Aldrich drove in one run for the Rebels in the win.

Junior Handshoe also provided a clutch hit for Allen Central in the victory. Handshoe smacked a double.

Pike County Central pitcher PJ Sowards suffered the loss. Sowards, who pitched 4.1 innings, recorded seven strikeouts.

Hunter Clark led Pike County Central with two hits.

Each 15th Region baseball team committed three errors.

Pike County Central took its fourth straight loss after opening the season 5-0.

With the win, Allen Central improved to 8-3.

Following the loss, Pike County Central fell to 5-4.

Allen Central and Pike County Central are scheduled to meet again on April 15.
