OWENSBORO – Katy Humphrey shot the low round of the Brescia Invitational on Sunday with a 73 to earn a spot on the all-tournament team as the University of Pikeville women’s golf team finished third with a total score of 676 (343-333) at Ben Hawes Municipal Golf Course.

Indiana Tech took first place with a 640 (329-311) and Illinois-Springfield took second place with 663 (342-321) total strokes.

Humphrey took fourth place overall after finishing with a two-round total of 156 (84-73), taking nine strokes off her day-one score with better conditions that the rainy mess every player dealt with on Saturday. Brittany Brophy was second for UPIKE with a 171 (85-86) and Ashley Veach was third with a 172 (86-86).

Christen Cropper stayed consistent as well to finish fourth on the team with a two-day total of 176 (88-88) and Lauren Gregory wrapped up the Bears’ scores with a 191 (98-93).

At press time, UPIKE was competing in the Lindsey Wilson College-hosted Blue Raider Classic in Jamestown.
