PIPPA PASSES - Kenny Gaynor and Mitch McLeish scored 16 points apiece and Willie McKinney added 14 to lead Cincinnati Christian past tournament host Alice Lloyd 77-56 in the semifinals of the KIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday.

With the win, Cincinnati Christian improved to 19-13 overall and 12-7 in the KIAC.

Following the campaign-concluding loss, Alice Lloyd ended the 2013-14 season 15-15 overall and 9-10 in the conference.

Cincinnati Christian used smothering defense to shut down Alice Lloyd’s offensive attack.

Determined Cincinnati Christian led 38-24 at halftime.

Alice Lloyd shot just 27 percent (15-of-54) in the tournament game.

Senior Stuart Stamper led Alice Lloyd with 14 points. Sophomore Cody Malicoat scored 13 points and junior Cody Stumbo contributed 11 for the Eagles in the short effort.

Isaac Wilson chipped in seven points for Alice Lloyd in the setback.

Limited offensively, Alice Lloyd standout Tyler Rogers was held to three points and three rebounds.

Cincinnati Christian, which shot 47 percent from the field, jumped ahead early and did not look back, leading by as many as 29 in the second half.

Excelling inside, Cincinnati Christian outrebounded Alice Lloyd 46-35.

CCU advanced to meet IU Southeast in the KIAC title game
