PRESTONSBURG - Prestonsburg dropped a regular-season finale on Tuesday night, falling to visiting Pikeville. The Lady Blackcats suffered their fourth straight loss as Pikeville pulled away to win 57-38 at the Prestonsburg Fieldhouse.

Rachel Potter paced Pikeville with 18 points. Alexxa Gearheart scored 12 points and Savanna Nunemaker netted 11 for the Lady Panthers.

Pikeville broke open a close game. After edging Prestonsburg 10-9 in the opening quarter, Pikeville outscored the Lady Blackcats 19-4 in the second period to lead 29-13 at halftime.

The Lady Panthers made the most of the cushion that they established in the first half. Pikeville continued to control the non-district contest after intermission, outscoring Prestonsburg 20-16 in the third quarter.

Pikeville shot 47 percent (18-of-38) from the field. The Lady Panthers were 21-of-36 (58 percent) from the foul line.

Reesce Endicott paced Prestonsburg with a team-best 13 points. Accompanying Endicott in double figures, Tiffany Meadows added 10 points for the Lady Blackcats in the loss.

Jana Jarvis scored five points, Maddy Ousley netted four and Kaitlyn Johnson, Shantel Collins and Jackie Kidd chipped in two apiece for Prestonsburg.

Prestonsburg shot 36 percent (10-of-28) from the field. The Lady Blackcats were 12-of-18 (67 percent) from the foul line.

The Lady Blackcats will meet Betsy Layne in the 58th District Tournament on Wednesday at the Fieldhouse. Tip-off for the Prestonsburg-Betsy Layne game is set for 6 p.m..
