HI HAT - Sophomore Dalton Frasure scored his 1,000th career point en route to a game-high 24 points as Prestonsburg posted its fourth straight win on Friday night, defeating host South Floyd 80-68 in a 58th District/Floyd County Conference game at Raider arena.
With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 10-10 overall and 5-1 in the 58th District/Floyd County Conference.
South Floyd slipped to 5-13 overall and 2-6 in the district/conference after absorbing the loss.
Frasure led four Prestonsburg scorers in double figures. Jarred Jarrell scored 17 points, Jarin Hall tossed in 14 and and Blake Dean added 10 for the Blackcats.
South Floyd fared well early, outscoring Prestonsburg 16-11 in the opening quarter. After the first half ended with the two teams tied 35-35, Prestonsburg outscored South Floyd 20-14 in the third quarter to move ahead.
Visiting Prestonsburg was 22 of 39 from the foul line.
Blake LeMaster had six points, Jordan Ray four, Aaron Foley three and Scott Stapleton two for the Blackcats.
J.R. Tackett led South Floyd with 18 points. Tyler Daniels tossed in 16 points and Austin Bailey added 13 for the Raiders.
Michael Martin (eight points), Hunter Johnson (seven points), Mack Little (five points) and Brady Ousley (one point) also provided scoring for South Floyd in the loss.
The Blackats completed a sweep. Prestonsburg defeated South Floyd 74-59 in a game played on Jan. 10.
