ALLEN - The annual Hatfield-McCoy Shoot will be held at the Williamson Fieldhouse in neighboring West Virginia on Saturday. This year’s Hatfield-McCoy Shootout will once again feature a Floyd County contingent as Wesley Christian competes in the annual boys’ high school basketball event. Wesley Christian will face Man (W.Va.) in a game that is slated to tip off at 2 p.m..


The Circuit Riders will enter the contest with an impressive 21-6 record.


“Event coordinator Mark Whitt does an outstanding job with the Shootout every year,” Wesley Christian Coach Jack Jarrell said.


Wesley Christian is led by a host of players, including 607 Abraham Onyebuchi, who is averaging 15 points per game. The Riders also feature 6-9 center Kelvin Osondu (6 ppg) and 6-3 senior guard Thomas Hall, who is averaging 14 points per game in his final season.


Another 6-3 junior guard is Malik McDonald, who is averaging 11 points per game,


Senior guard Colton Caldwell is the floor general for the Riders and averages eight points, four assists and three steals per contest.


Joshua Amuzu, one of the most talented guards in the Mountains, continues to lead Wesley Christian in scoring. Amuzu is averaging 21 points per game for the Riders. Earlier in the season, Amuzu scored a game-high 37 points during game played as part of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Classic at the East Kentucky Expo Center.

8 p.m. - Knott County Central vs. South Charleston (W.Va.)


9:30 p.m. - Belfry vs. Mingo Central (W.Va.)
