BETSY LAYNE - Longtime 58th District/Floyd County Conference frontrunner Betsy Layne notched another win on Friday night, pulling away to defeat visiting Prestonsburg 76-52 at the Dome.


Junior guard/forward Peyton Case led Betsy Layne with a game-high 26 points. Senior guard Dylan Meade, junior forward/center Lako Daniels and junior guard/forward Dustin Rogers joined Case in double figures, finishing with 13 points apiece for the Bobcats.


Betsy Layne controlled the contest, leading at the conclusion of each quarter. The Bobcats outscored Prestonsburg 23-15 in the first quarter and led 42-32 at intermission


Stetching its lead after halftime, Prestonsburg led 60-43 at the end of the third quarter.


Dylan Hamilton netted six points, Dalton Meade tossed in four and Andrew Tackett scored on a free throw for the Bobcats.


Junior guard Jarin Hall paced Prestonsburg with 17 points. Jarredd Jarrell, another junior guard, joined Hall in double figures, finishing with 16 points for the Blackcats.


Sophomore forward Dalton Frasure finished one shot short of double figures, scoring eight points for Prestonsburg in the loss.


Aaron Foley and Scott Stapleton each hit a three-pointer and Jordan Ray added two points for the Blackcats.


Betsy Layne is scheduled to visit Prestonsburg Jan. 25.
