CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL.

In a clash of division leaders on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium, Dalton led a 42-28 win over Indianapolis with a 120.5 passer rating. He completed 24-of-35 (68.6 percent) for 275 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and he also had an eight-yard rushing TD. His TD passes went 29 yards to WR Marvin Jones, one yard to TE Jermaine Gresham and nine yards to WR A.J. Green.

Earlier this season, Dalton was named Offensive Player of the Week after an Oct. 13 performance at Buffalo, and he also was named Offensive Player of the Month for October. He is only the second Bengal to win a total of three weekly and/or monthly league awards in a season. The only previous instance was by S David Fulcher in 1989 (two weekly and one monthly). The NFL has issued the weekly awards since 1984 and the monthly awards since 1986.

As a team, the Bengals this season have won six weekly or monthly league awards, just one short of the franchise-record seven achieved last season.

In addition to Dalton’s three awards, other winners this season have been P Kevin Huber (Special Teams for Week 13 at San Diego), LB Vontaze Burfict (Defense for Week 11 vs. Cleveland) and WR Marvin Jones (Offense for Week 8 vs. N.Y. Jets).

With three games remaining, the Bengals are one short of the franchise-record seven weekly or monthly awards earned last season.
