COLUMBIA - Four of the five Mid-South Conference teams that are ranked in the latest NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll moved up in the weekly poll, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Faulkner (Ala.), Georgetown (Ky.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Reinhardt (Ga.) climbed up the poll while Cumberlands (Ky.) held steady at No. 2 in the nation for a sixth straight week.

Cumberlands (8-0) received 300 voting points from the national raters to hang on to second spot. The Patriots remained unbeaten this season with a 70-17 win at Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday.

Cumberlands remains one of four teams without a loss this season. The Patriots host Kentucky Christian on Saturday in Williamsburg.

Faulkner had the biggest jump of the week for the MSC teams as the Eagles climbed from No. 15 to No. 12. The Eagles (7-2) received 167 voting points following a 66-14 win at Belhaven (Miss.) over the weekend. Faulkner hosts Campbellsville on Saturday in an important MSC West Division game.

Georgetown (5-3) moved up two spots into a tie at No.14. The Tigers earned 144 voting points following a 49-7 win at home over Bluefield (Va.). Georgetown travels to Union (Ky.) on Saturday.

Lindsey Wilson climbed one spot to No. 17 this week with 136 voting points. The Blue Raiders (7-2) defeated Union 72-9 last week for their second straight win. Lindsey Wilson hosts Bluefield this weekend in Columbia.

Reinhardt moved from No. 22 into a tie at No. 20 this week despite being idle last weekend. The Eagles (5-3) received 72 voting points from the national raters. Reinhardt hosts Cumberland (Tenn.) this weekend in Waleska.

Morningside (Iowa) remains No. 1 in the national poll with 314 voting points, including all 14 first-place votes. Grand View (Iowa) is No. 3 with 292 voting points and Benedictine (Kan.) is No. 4 with 278 voting points.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Independents.

The next NAIA poll is scheduled to be announced on Monday, Nov. 11.

UPIKE Football: The University of Pikeville football team will host Belhaven College on Saturday. Kickoff for the Pikeville-Belhaven football game is set for 1:30 p.m..
