McDOWELL - McDowell ARH is the corporate sponsor of the Shorty Jamerson Football Bowl, which will be held on Friday at South Floyd High School.
“Jamerson was a star UK athlete, leader and an all-around Kentucky hero, and we are honored to sponsor the Shorty Jamerson Football Bowl this year,” said Russ Barker, McDowell ARH Community CEO.
Prior to the game, McDowell ARH will host a tailgating party with free hot dogs, chips and drinks as well as a live remote with Q95 FM radio at 6 p.m. in the South Floyd High School football stadium’s parking lot.
“We encourage the community to come out and enjoy free food and music before the game,” said Barker. “Also, as your local hospital, we care about the health of the Floyd County community, and that is why our ARH team will provide free health screenings at the bowl game.”
According to Barker, McDowell ARH staff will offer blood pressure, pulse, glucose and grip testing along with health assessments free to the public.
Health information on nutrition, flu vaccine, home health, home care products, cancer screenings and heart health will be available at the McDowell ARH tent. There will be give-a-ways and a chance to win a nice door prize.
“Come join the ARH team before the game,” added Barker. “It’s going to be an event you don’t want to miss.”
