Rescuer Wendy Grandon came to the aid of a young fawn in trouble late Monday afternoon. The baby deer had gotten itself stuck on Lafferty Lane downtown, and was bleating for help before being extricated. Grandon said she is the only wildlife rehabilitator working in Eastern Kentucky.
